The projects of Nasara for Burkina

… because education should become a right for many children. We built and support the Kindergarten in Djicofè, on the outskirts of the capital. Here, the neighborhood children spend their days. They are fed, vaccinated, and can play in a protected environment. A right for all children in the world.
“… to ensure they get at least one meal a day“ Our Canteen provides two meals a day to all the children … but also to anyone who comes and is hungry! In the kitchen, 3 people work full-time with regular contracts and benefits.
“… so that even the youth from the outskirts can study and realize their dreams“ In the huts of Djicofè, electricity does not reach. The young people study with kerosene lamps. Thus, the idea was born to create a large straw canopy to shelter them (apatam), a library, blackboards, tables, benches… but most importantly, LIGHT so they can study in the evening.
“… because it’s never too late to learn to read and write, not even for those who are poor“ For those who, as children, could not attend school but instead the streets… Education as the only tool for independence and freedom.
“… because even a wheelchair can make a child happy“ Poverty is a great problem. But poverty combined with disability… becomes an insurmountable problem that takes away hope. Two physiotherapy centers with specialized staff and some compensatory tools can alleviate the difficulties of many children and make the lives of their young mothers more dignified.

As prescribed by current laws, in order to ensure transparency in the use of 5×1000 funds received from the Italian State by Nasara for Burkina, we have included in our financial statements the allocation of the funds received and we publicize it through this website. On this page is a detailed report of all contributions received by our association.

What is Nasara for Burkina

“Nasara per il Burkina” is a non-profit organization (ONLUS) that has been involved in International Cooperation in Africa since 2007.
It operates in Burkina Faso to contribute to the fields of education, healthcare, and the empowerment of the most vulnerable groups.
Its operational center is located in one of the most disadvantaged neighborhoods of the capital, Ouagadougou, Djicofè, where it has created and manages a kindergarten, an adult literacy school, and a physiotherapy center for children with disabilities.
Our well distributes 1,600 containers of water to neighborhood families every day. To facilitate educational inclusion, we are building an elementary school that will be inaugurated next September; the school will accommodate 360 children, most of whom come from families in need.
