Nasara for Burkina has been operating for many years in Burkina Faso, serving the poor and the needy. When it was founded, we wrote in the statute:

“The association aims to make its cultural, material, economic, and project resources available to populations, communities, and individuals who, regardless of social status, religious belief, or group affiliation, are in real need.”

“The association is inspired by Christian principles of peace and solidarity. The association is voluntary and non-profit.”

Since then, no member has failed to uphold this commitment, which grows stronger in our consciences each year. Many steps have been taken since then; we may have made some mistakes, but thanks to our volunteer work, we have helped hundreds of boys and girls to study, some even to graduation, and many projects have been completed to benefit entire communities. From the early years when even small movements caused concern, today we travel hundreds of kilometers on every mission to visit project or sponsorship contacts. We have many Burkinabè friends with whom we share many human experiences: good and bad events, joys and worries, dreams and disappointments. Many of us volunteers have discovered what “Africa’s calling” is, and missions are prepared well in advance and with great joy. We have not walked this path alone; we have always relied on Burkinabè contacts or other Italian associations to avoid mistakes and to share the joys and difficulties encountered on this journey.

Today, Nasara for Burkina is a volunteer association that has been recognized as a non-profit organization (ONLUS) since 2006 and is listed among those eligible for the 5 x mille tax donation scheme in Italy.
